On the Crawl
The lyrics are as follows:
He's on the crawl
he's on the crawl
fee fi fo fum
he's on the crawl
Yes, another silly song made up by Trisha. Trust me, it is awesome when you hear me singing it. Actually, you may just be that lucky. If I can figure out how to get the video to work that is - so stay tuned for an edited blog post with videos of him crawling.
Unfortunately, with his increase in curiosity comes increasingly larger bumps and bruises. :(
I felt so bad after this one. I felt a little less than super star mom after this one. I was cleaning his highchair tray in the kitchen while he was playing with his toys by the bookcase that he loves, when he bumped his head, just above his eye. It is so hard to see your baby crying. He had forgotten about it 5 minutes later - but it was a rough day for me. Lucky for both of us, the bumps and bruises clear up over night with a little cool compress and TLC. Really! It's amazing!
Now he is climbing all over me and trying desperately to stand.
Some of you will get to see him crawling in person soon. Lucky you, and lucky us! 2 more days until Utah, hooray!
The Beach
Ryan went to the beach as a newborn, but stayed in his carseat the whole time and was only out long enough for a quick picture. I've been thinking about going back to the beach for awhile now...but just haven't. I guess our weekends get real busy real quick.
Well, this last week I went with some of my girl friends and their kids. We went during the day so it wasn't crowded at all. I wasn't sure if Ryan would enjoy it or not, but the verdict is in...he LOVES the beach! He could not get enough of picking up the sand and letting it run through his fingers. I must admit, I felt like he enjoyed the beach more than I did. I was so nervous that he might pick up a cigarette butt in the sand, or get sand in his mouth, or get sunburned (even with sunscreen and a nice cloudy day), or need to nurse (which wouldn't be so discreet on a windy beach). I'm sure I will get less nervous the more we go. And I'm sure we'll go back - since the beach is only 30 mins away and apparently Ryan loves it!
The babies took a good nap after. :0)

Conference Weekend
Here is what our conference weekend looked like...
We listened to conference on KSL radio online from Jeff's laptop - isn't technology amazing?!? We did go to the church to watch one session. Our neighbors went with us and I think they enjoyed it. How could they not? :)
Jeff and I piled some of Ryan's toys on the bed and strategically stretched ourselves out on any side of the bed that Ryan may roll off of. It actually worked pretty well. His favorite toy may have been the plastic container from diaper wipes...go figure.
I love how there is always something that seems so personalized to you as you listen to conference (as Elder Holland said). For me it was President Monson's talk on the temple - can't wait to read it/study it!
Love all y'all; Ryan and I are excited to see some of you soon...

The Sock Monster
(What do you mean "don't eat daddy's socks, even if they are clean"?)
Ryan loves socks. Well - he loves to put them in his mouth, that is. I don't even bother to put socks on him anymore because he can pull them off and soak them with his little drooling mouth in record time. I must admit it is awful cute to see him stretch out his tiny socks in an effort to get them to his mouth. He gets more compliments than anyone I know who eats their socks at the grocery store...wait a minute...
This day we had a basket of clean laundry sitting on the floor and he got to the socks - of course.
Perhaps the "sock monster" doesn't really live in the dryer like everyone says it does...
